지도선장 시리즈 : "지도선장의 오대양 육대주 대항해"

Saint Simons Island Sea Captain의 제작동기 :

2012년 후반기, 미국 조지아주에 사는 Terri Gaylor는 잠을 자다가 이상한 꿈을 꾸게된다.

꿈의 내용은 선원복장을 한 노인이 Saint Simons 섬 근처에서 산책을 하고있던 자신에게 다가와 "머지않은 미래에 당신이 도와줄 사람이 나타날것이다" 라는 말을 남기고 서서히 사라져 갔다.
그녀는 꿈속에서 사라져가는 노인을 보고 "그사람은 누구이고 어디에 살고있느냐"고 소리쳤지만 노인은 그대로 사라져 갔다.

꿈에서 깬 그녀는 도저히 이해하지 못할 꿈의 내용에 의아해 했다.

평소 선원에 대한 지식도 없고 아는것이 없었던 그녀는 생각에 생각을 거듭한 결과 인터넷 검색에서 선원에 대한 정보를 찾기 시작했다.
그러던중 그녀는 소스라치게 놀랄 장면을 목격하게 된다

꿈에서 보았던 노인의 얼굴이 지도선장의 얼굴과 똑같다는 것을 알고 그녀는 매우 놀랐다.
그것은 "지도선장 7"의 그림의 선장얼굴을 보았던 것이다.

그녀는 마음을 진정하고 망설임 끝에 "지도선장 원작자"인 나에게 이메일을 보냈다.
처음에는 내가 어떻게 생각할지 몰라 꿈의 내용은 말하지 않았다. 꿈의 내용은 나중에 한것이다.  

그녀는 인터넷 예술품판매업을 하고 있었고 몇번의 이메일을 주고받은후 

조지아주에 있는 아름다운 관광지섬 Saint Simons Island을 주제로 지도선장 12시리즈를 제작할것을 제안했다.
좋은 제안이라 생각되어 수락했고 Saint Simons Island Sea Captain 시리즈 제작을 시작했다.

현재 "Saint Simons Island Sea Captain 5" 까지 제작 완료되었으나
전업화가인 나는 그림제작과 수입이 연결되어야 하는 관계로  부득이하게 제작진행을 중단하고 있다.

그녀도 마찬가지로 좋은 환경으로 개선되어 다시 제작이 계속 이어지는 날을 기다리고 있다
